Evaluation of blogging

After creating my own blog and under going research to find other blogs that I enjoyed and were similar to my chosen interests, I had to review these blogs and keep weekly reviews of the blogs. After keeping a blog since November I can now understand the uses that a blog can have. Blogs are ideal for an artist to show up and coming work and keep clients up to date with exhibitions. They are also a good thing to show step by step progress of work. As many people now have the Internet i think it is a good thing to have handy if future employers/universities ask to see certain pieces of work as well as portfolios. Blogs are accessible to the whole world once they are online so a large positive of doing this is that many people will be able to access your work and you will have more of a chance of being a 'successful designer' and making more comissioned sales compared to somebody who relys on word of mouth. However a negative of this is that some people unfortunately do not have access to the Internet which if a designer solely relied on the blog for their only portfolio it would limit them in a way as people who might want to access the work will not be able to do so.
I've really enjoyed blogging as i feel after looking and reviewing other blogs it has made me distinguish what makes a good blog and what doesn't make a good blog. I think blogging shows a lot of potential....
